A Little About

My Work.
Building Capacity and Identifying Strategies
I work with the individuals and organizations within the creative and cultural sector with the goal of building their capacity, overcoming constraints, and identifying ways to connect with new patrons, partners, and stakeholder groups. I equip individuals and organizations to succeed through sustainable processes and operations that focus on outcomes and impact.
Nurturing Creativity by Centering Community Needs and Aspirations
Within every community, there is a wealth of creativity, imagination, experience, and wisdom. I have built my career as an arts administrator around the belief that the most successful projects are the ones that are centered around observing, listening to, and asking questions of the people who live, work, and play in the communities being served. Community members must actively be involved in shaping the social character and built environment in their neighborhoods and commercial districts.
Advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
As a white, cisgender male, I acknowledge the privilege with which I live. I also acknowledge how I have benefited from systems rooted in white supremacy. I commit myself to leveraging my privilege to serve those who have been oppressed, marginalized, or under-resourced and to dismantle systems of inequity, inequality, and injustice.
Erie Arts & Culture
I currently serve as the Executive Director of Erie Arts & Culture (EAC), the regional arts agency serving six counties in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I joined EAC in 2018 and navigated the organization through the strategic planning process. This resulted in the adoption of a new five year plan that radically evolved the agency's role in the region. EAC is now poised to be a catalyst for change, not just within our sector but in the region as a whole.
